‘During stage one, the heroine rejects the feminine in favour of the masculine. She may still be tied to the feminine, but she increasingly resents that attachment’ – Maureen Murdock, The Heroine's Journey: Woman's Quest for Wholeness, 1990

In a quest to discover, re-discover, connect to and embrace my feminine energy and power, I created a series of artworks in response to Maureen Murdock’s 10-stage cycle - The Heroine’s Journey

We all have a Masculine and Feminine counterpart, but women can be encouraged to adopt masculine values to get ahead. To do this, we shed the feminine, which can ultimately create a disconnect within. It is certainly what happened to me in the workplace and in relationships.

To reconnect with the feminine is a sacred but painful journey and one which is still evolving for me.

If you are feeling the need to reconnect with yourself, allow time and space to journey in. With one hand on your heart and the other on your belly, you can hold yourself and whisper – what do I need?

As you wait for an answer, sit with patience & love to see what unfolds.

More artworks to be released from this series.
